CSULB Eng 370A- American Literature
Ben Franklin- An essay that answers the questions:1) Discuss why Ben Franklin could be considered one of our first Renaissance men. You may want to address some of his social, political, religious, or philosophical contributions. Use two of his works to support your claim.
6) Cotton Mather delighted Franklin's rationalistic mind. Why? Discuss and explain, by referencing to one of his works, why Franklin might have respected him.

Winthrop, Plymouth Plantation, Bradford- An essay that answers the questions: 1) The early history of Plymouth Colony was the history of Bradford's leadership. Discuss the significance of "Of Plymouth Plantation," Book I Chapters IX and X and "The Mayflower Compact" and compare/contrast with Winthrop's "A Model of Christian Charity." Retch. I'm glad this class is behind me.
CSULB Eng 386- Poetry
Midterm- The theme of father/son relationships in several poems, inculding "Daddy" (Sylvia Plath) and "Papa's Waltz"
Final- Comparing and contrasting love/lust poems, including ee cummings.
